Wednesday, June 4 – Stay On Purpose

Scripture: Colossians 1:5
“…the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel.”

Paul points to the source of our faith and love: hope. Not wishful thinking, but confident hope—stored up in heaven, secure in God. When you live with that kind of hope, your purpose gains clarity. You’re not just living for today; you’re living from eternity.

The more you meditate on the hope of the gospel, the more it shapes how you respond to challenges. Purpose doesn’t come from having all the answers—it comes from trusting in the One who holds your future.

Journal Reflection:

  • How often do I think about the hope I have in heaven?
  • What would change if I lived with a clearer view of eternity?

Tuesday, June 3 – Stay On Purpose

Scripture: Colossians 1:4
“…because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people.”

Paul celebrates two powerful indicators of a life on purpose: faith and love. Faith connects us vertically to God, and love expresses that connection horizontally to others. It’s easy to get caught up in accomplishments or appearances, but real purpose is always anchored in trusting Jesus and loving people.

Living with purpose isn’t about doing something big—it’s about being someone faithful. As your faith grows, your love should overflow. Who are you showing love to today? God’s purpose for you always includes people.

Journal Reflection:

  • Am I more focused on doing for God or being with Him?
  • Who is God inviting me to love more intentionally today?

Monday, June 2 – Stay on Purpose

Scripture: Colossians 1:3
“We always thank God… when we pray for you.”

Paul could’ve started his letter with correction. He could’ve pointed out what needed fixing. But instead, he began with thanks. Before anything else—before the theology, before the challenge—he gave thanks for the people. That’s no small thing. Because gratitude softens hearts, heals relationships, and reminds us of God’s goodness. It’s a purpose-sharpening habit.

“We always thank God.” Not occasionally. Not when it’s convenient. Always. Paul wasn’t just thankful when things were going well—he was writing this from prison. That’s what makes it so powerful. His gratitude wasn’t based on circumstances—it was based on the faithfulness of God and the beauty of community.

When you think about your life today—what’s loudest? The frustration? The to-do list? The missed expectations? Or could it be the quiet, steady beat of gratitude? Maybe today is your moment to pause and thank God for someone who’s shaped your faith. Maybe it’s a parent, a friend, a teacher, or someone you haven’t talked to in years. Don’t underestimate what a simple thank you does—not just for them, but for your soul. A grateful heart stays aligned with heaven’s purpose.

Journal Reflection:
• Who in my life am I thankful for today?
• How can gratitude keep my heart aligned with God’s purpose?

Sunday, June 1 – Stay on Purpose

Scripture: Colossians 1:1-2
“Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to God’s holy people in Colossae, the faithful brothers and sisters in Christ: Grace and peace to you from God our Father.”

When Paul wrote this letter, he began by reminding the Colossians of their identity and calling. He wasn’t just writing to a crowd—he was speaking to “God’s holy people,” chosen and loved. The first step to living with purpose is remembering who you are and whose you are. You are not random or forgotten. You are called by name and sent by God into your world with intention.

You don’t have to figure out your purpose on your own. Like Paul, you can live confidently knowing you are “by the will of God.” When you root your identity in Christ, purpose follows. Today, take a breath and receive grace and peace. You’re not just surviving—you’re sent.

Journal Reflection:

  • Do I believe I’m living “by the will of God”? Why or why not?
  • What voices shape how I see my purpose?
  • How would my day look different if I fully embraced that I am chosen and sent?
