7 Things to take Fall in Knoxville to the Next Level

Can you believe it is fall already?  We have prepared a quick list of things that you and your family may enjoy doing this fall here in the Knoxville area!  We hope that this is your best fall ever.

1. TAKE A HIKE.

With The Great Smoky Mountains National Park in our backyard there are endless opportunities for walking and hiking.  Check out the wildflowers, cascading streams, the scent of evergreens, and the sounds of birds.  These are best seen and experienced away from roads.  For this reason, the National Park Service maintains 800 miles of trails here.

2. GO ON A FOOD TOUR.

Participate in a guided walking tour through Historic Downtown Knoxville.  Hear the history of some of Knoxville’s most notable districts, sample food and drink from locally owned restaurants, and meet the people who bring this unique culinary scene together.  Visit knoxvillefoodtours.com for more information.

3. EXPERIENCE A UT FOOTBALL GAME.

We had to say it.  We do live in Orange Country!  The VOLS play South Carolina here at Neyland Stadium on Nov. 7th.  Take your family and have a blast!

4. VISIT A PUMPKIN PATCH & CORN MAZE.

Pumpkin patches and corn mazes are a blast to experience with friends.  This Saturday, October 24  the Knoxville Adventures small group here at City Hills will be going to one!  Come Join us, you won’t regret it.  Everyone welcome.  Oakes Farm Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch 8240 Corryton Rd.  Corryton, TN 37721.  We will meet there at 3pm.  General admission for ages 11+ $10.95.  Kids 3-10 $8.95.  Ages 2 and Under are FREE.

5. HAVE A BACKYARD BONFIRE.

You can purchase an inexpensive fire pit at Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, or Lowe’s.  Roast marshmallows and hot dogs.  Make some homemade chili.  This is a great way to reconnect with the family and enjoy the chilly outdoor air around the bonfire.

6. CHECK OUT A FARMERS MARKET.

Knoxville has a variety of farmers markets.  Market Square Farmers’ Market is an open-air farmers’ market located on Market Square in the heart of Downtown Knoxville.  The market is open every Wednesday from 11am to 2pm and Saturday from 9am to 2pm through November 21st. Other farmers markets include “Ebenezer Road Farmers Market” 1001 Ebenezer Rd, Knoxville – Tuesdays 3-6,  “Lakeshore Park Farmers Market” 5908 Lyons View Drive, Knoxville – Fridays, “Oak Ridge Farmers Market” at Jackson Square Wednesdays 3-6 & Saturdays 8-12.

7. CONNECT WITH GOD AND OTHERS.

We truly believe that the greatest way to take your life to the next level is to get connected to a life-giving local church.  Exciting things are happening at the church and we would love for you to come and be part of it!  THIS SUNDAY WE ARE HAVING WATER BAPTISMS so if you have never been water baptized this is a great opportunity for you to go public with your faith.  If you would like to be water baptized click HERE to RSVP.    We are looking forward to a great time this Sunday!  Come and bring friends and family!

Hope to you see THIS SUNDAY!
